New Update: Estimate Range - give customers a smarter price

We’re always looking for ways to help service-based businesses generate more accurate and professional quotes while saving time.

Our latest product update introduces the Estimate Range feature - a simple, flexible way to provide customers with a price range instead of a single fixed figure.

Why we built it

Often, tradespeople, consultants, and other service providers face the challenge of quoting jobs where the final cost may vary based on materials, size, or complexity. Giving a single price upfront can either:

  • Undersell your service if unforeseen costs appear
  • Scare off potential customers if the price seems too high

The Estimate Range feature solves this by allowing you to:

  • Show a lower and upper price boundary
  • Apply a percentage buffer (e.g., ±10%)
  • Apply a fixed buffer (e.g., ±£50)

This gives your customers a realistic expectation without locking you into a rigid price.

How it works

When creating or editing your Quotify form:

  1. Enable the Estimate Range option in your form settings.
  2. Choose whether the range is based on a percentage or fixed amount.
  3. Enter your buffer value (e.g. 10% or £50).

When a customer fills out the form, they’ll see a price range like:

  • £450 – £550 (fixed buffer)
  • £900 – £1,100 (10% buffer)

Meanwhile, your system will calculate the exact quote internally, so you can still process, approve, or invoice the customer confidently.

The total option showing an estimate range.

Who this helps

This feature is perfect for:

  • Tradespeople: plumbers, electricians, landscapers, or builders who want to reflect variable material or labour costs.
  • Consultants & service providers: coaches, marketers, or agencies providing estimates where project scope might change.
  • SaaS or product companies: where optional add-ons or customisations can affect final pricing.

It reduces the need for back-and-forth communication, prevents underquoting, and improves customer trust by being transparent about potential cost ranges.

This further improves transparency incase there are price changes that come about due to unforeseen events.
