About this template

Delivery work is won on speed of reply. A form that prices the run instantly, with the collection date attached, turns a quote request into a booking while the other lot are still asking for a postcode.

Courier pricing is service level plus distance plus vehicle, and every enquiry that arrives without those three is a phone call you did not need. This template asks for all of them up front.

Who it's for

Owner-driver couriers, same-day delivery firms and multi-drop operators quoting domestic and business deliveries.

Your questions, answered

Last updated 5 August 2026
  • 01 How much does a same-day courier cost?

Same-day direct work typically starts around £45 plus a per-mile rate, with next day nearer £25 and economy around £15. The vehicle matters too, with a Luton or tail-lift adding around £70.

  • 02 How should couriers price mileage?

Per mile, on top of a service-level base. Around £1.20 a mile is a common starting point for van work, and pricing it separately means a 12-mile job and a 120-mile job do not end up with the same quote.

  • 03 Do you charge for waiting time?

You should. Waiting is the hidden cost in courier work, and an hourly waiting rate on the quote makes it a conversation up front rather than an argument at the end.

  • 04 Can customers book a specific collection date?

Yes. This template includes a collection date picker, so the enquiry arrives with the date attached and you can check it against the run before you reply.

  • 05 Is there a downloadable courier & same-day delivery quote template?

Yes. As well as the free online version, you can buy the courier & same-day delivery quote pack as a spreadsheet for £7. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Apple Numbers, with the pricing maths already built in and a branded quote you can export to PDF. Buy once and it's yours to keep.
