ABOUT THIS TEMPLATE

A purpose-built copywriting quote template that helps freelance copywriters and small studios price projects by type, word count and turnaround in one place — and stop typing the same per-page rate into a hundred email threads.

Copywriting briefs vary wildly: a homepage rewrite, a 5-email welcome sequence, a 2,000-word case study with interviews. This template handles them all by walking prospects through the project decisions that drive the price and producing a realistic estimate at the end.

Who this template is for

Freelance copywriters, content writers and small content studios offering web copy, blog content, email sequences, sales pages, case studies or white papers. If you price per project (with word-count bands or page count as multipliers), this template prices them all in a single form.

What the form asks

Project type (blog, web copy, email sequence, sales page, case study, white paper), word count or page count band, research level, turnaround urgency, optional add-ons (brand voice, SEO research, revisions). You can extend with any of Quotify’s supported question types: industry, target audience, sample of current copy.

How to customise it for your business

Plug in your own per-project base rates, word-count multipliers and rush surcharges. For more on structuring per-project quotes, see how to price your project and should you display prices on your website. Use conditional questions to branch between project types, then embed it on your website or share a direct link.

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • Should I price copywriting per word or per project?

Most established copywriters price per project (or per page / per email) rather than per word, because per-word pricing punishes you for writing tight. The Quotify copywriting template uses project-based pricing by default with word-count bands as multipliers, so a 500-word landing page and a 2,000-word landing page have different prices without you charging by the letter.

  • Can I handle blog posts, web copy and email sequences in one form?

Yes. Use a conditional question on project type to reveal the right follow-ups: blog flows ask about SEO depth and research level; web copy asks about page count and brand voice work; email flows ask about sequence length and segmentation. One template, every copy type.

  • How do I price research-heavy work like white papers or case studies?

Add a research-level question (light / medium / deep / interview-based) with multipliers on the base price. Interview-based pieces should include a fixed add-on for transcription and the interview itself, typically a 50% uplift on the base copy rate.

  • Should rush turnarounds add an extra fee?

Yes. Anything inside your standard turnaround window (typically 5–10 business days) should add 25–50%. The form includes a turnaround question with explicit deadlines so clients self-select into the rush band rather than expecting normal rates for 48-hour work.

  • Can I include strategy work like brand voice or content audits?

Yes. Add them as add-on services (brand voice document, content audit, SEO keyword research) with fixed prices. Most copy clients don't know they need strategy until they see it offered, and visible add-ons increase average order value without aggressive upselling.
