About this template

A blocked drain is a today problem. Whoever answers first with a clear price gets the job, which makes a self-serve quote form worth more in this trade than almost any other.

Drainage work is urgent, unpleasant and mostly priced on how fast you can get there. This template prices by the problem and how urgent it is, with the survey and jetting add-ons that turn a callout into a proper fix.

Who it's for

Drainage engineers, drain clearance firms and plumbers offering unblocking, CCTV surveys, jetting and drain repairs to domestic and commercial customers.

Your questions, answered

Last updated 5 August 2026
  • 01 How much does it cost to unblock a drain?

A blocked sink or toilet is typically around £90, an outside drain nearer £120, and a collapsed or damaged drain starts around £350 before any excavation. Same-day work adds around 30% and out-of-hours emergencies around 70%.

  • 02 Why do emergency drain callouts cost more?

Because someone is dropping what they are doing, often at night or at a weekend. A 70% out-of-hours uplift is standard across the trade and it is far easier to charge when it appears as a line item on the quote.

  • 03 Do I need a CCTV drain survey?

If the problem keeps coming back, yes. A camera survey finds root ingress, collapses and misaligned joints that jetting alone will not fix, and the written report is what insurers and conveyancers ask for.

  • 04 Do you charge differently for commercial work?

Usually, yes. Commercial drainage tends to mean bigger runs, more access constraints and tighter time windows, so this template carries a separate commercial uplift.

  • 05 Is there a downloadable drain unblocking & drainage quote template?

Yes. As well as the free online version, you can buy the drain unblocking & drainage quote pack as a spreadsheet for £7. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Apple Numbers, with the pricing maths already built in and a branded quote you can export to PDF. Buy once and it's yours to keep.
