ABOUT THIS TEMPLATE

A purpose-built roofing quote template that handles everything from a £200 tile slip repair to a £15,000 full replacement in one form. Built around the variables that actually shape a roofing job: type of work, area, property height, material and the extras (scaffolding, flashing, disposal) that catch people out.

Phone-quoting roofing is a nightmare because every job’s different. Three storey vs bungalow, slate vs felt, replacement vs patch — and that’s before you’ve factored in scaffolding. This template moves the questions to a structured form so prospects can self-serve a realistic ballpark before you’ve even climbed onto a roof.

Who this template is for

Roofing contractors, flat-roof specialists, and small multi-trade firms that handle roof work alongside other building services. Works equally well for a sole trader who does mostly repairs and a 5-person crew doing replacements.

What the form asks

Job type (repair, full replacement, flat roof, gutters, chimney, Velux, moss treatment), approximate roof area in m², property height, roofing material and extras (scaffolding, lead flashing, loft insulation upgrade, disposal). You can extend with any of Quotify’s supported question types: postcode for travel, urgency, photos.

How to customise it for your business

Plug in your own base rates per job type, your per-m² rate, height multipliers and your scaffold/disposal flat fees. For more on building a transparent quote that earns trust, see how to price your project. Once it’s ready, embed it on your website or share a direct link with anyone who asks “can you take a look at my roof?”

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • How should I price roofing work?

Most roofers price by job type and area, with surcharges for property height, material and access. The Quotify roofer template lets you set a base rate per job (repair, full replacement, flat roof, gutters, chimney), apply a per-m² multiplier for the affected area, and add charges for scaffolding, lead flashing and disposal.

  • Can I price small repairs and full replacements in the same form?

Yes, that's the point. Add a 'What's the job?' question with options from £200 tile repairs to £15,000 full replacements, and route the price logic per option. Customers self-select what they need; you don't have to think about edge cases.

  • How do I handle property height and scaffolding charges?

Add a 'Property height' radio (single-storey / two-storey / three-storey+) and apply a multiplier or fixed surcharge per tier. For scaffolding specifically, use a checkbox add-on with a fixed price. Most roofers know their preferred scaffold hire's day rate and can plug a flat fee in.

  • Should the form ask about roof material?

Yes, because slate and clay tile work is meaningfully different from concrete or felt, both in time and in replacement material cost. The template includes a material radio (concrete tile, clay tile, slate, felt/bitumen, EPDM rubber) so the price reflects what's actually on the roof.

  • Do I need a website to use this template?

No. You can share a direct link to the form in your Google Business profile, Checkatrade listing, social media, or via SMS to enquiries. If you do have a website, embedding takes about a minute.
