About this template

Homeowners get three glazing quotes and struggle to compare any of them. Be the one that itemises the frames, the glazing and the removal, and you look like the honest option before you have said a word.

Glazing quotes are a counting exercise with a few big multipliers. This template prices the number of windows and doors, then applies frame material and glazing uplifts, with the extras that usually get forgotten.

Who it's for

Window and door installers, glazing firms and conservatory companies quoting replacements and new installations for domestic customers.

Your questions, answered

Last updated 5 August 2026
  • 01 How much does a replacement window cost?

A standard uPVC double-glazed window is around £450 supplied and fitted. Aluminium adds roughly 35% and timber around 50%, and triple glazing adds about 25% on top.

  • 02 Do you price per window or for the whole house?

Per window and per door, which is why this template uses sliders. It scales cleanly from a single replacement to a full-house job without you rewriting the quote.

  • 03 Is removing the old frames included?

It is priced separately here, along with scaffolding for upper floors and FENSA certification, because these are the items most often left out of a headline price and then argued about later.

  • 04 What is FENSA certification and do I need it?

FENSA registration certifies that replacement windows and doors meet building regulations. It is normally required for replacements in England and Wales, and homeowners will ask for the certificate when they sell.

  • 05 Is there a downloadable window & door installation quote template?

Yes. As well as the free online version, you can buy the window & door installation quote pack as a spreadsheet for £7. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Apple Numbers, with the pricing maths already built in and a branded quote you can export to PDF. Buy once and it's yours to keep.
