ABOUT THIS TEMPLATE

A ready-to-go flooring quote template that prices carpet, laminate, LVT and engineered wood from a single form, so customers get a real number the moment they know their room size. Built around the variables that actually drive a flooring job: floor area, the type of flooring, and the add-ons (underlay, old-floor removal, moving furniture, trimming doors) that quietly turn a half-day into a full one.

Flooring is a textbook area-priced job, but most enquiries still arrive as “how much to do my living room?” with no measurements attached. This template puts the maths in the customer’s hands: they enter the dimensions, pick the flooring, and see a price that reflects the real scope before you’ve committed to a home visit.

Who this template is for

Carpet and flooring fitters, LVT and laminate specialists, and multi-trade firms that want a dedicated flooring form. It works for a single 12m² bedroom just as well as a whole-house re-floor, because the price scales with the area rather than the room.

What the form asks

Floor area in m² via the area calculator (length × width), flooring type (carpet, laminate, LVT, engineered wood), and add-ons such as underlay, lifting and disposing of the old floor, moving furniture and trimming doors to clear the new height. You can extend it with any of Quotify’s supported question types: subfloor prep, room count, threshold strips, or a postcode for travel.

How to customise it for your business

Plug in your own per-m² rates for each flooring type, your underlay and disposal fees, and any minimum charge for small rooms. For how the calculations hang together, see how pricing logic works, and for the thinking behind fixed, transparent pricing for trades, self-service quoting for tradespeople. Once it’s tuned, embed it on your website or share a direct link with anyone who asks “how much to floor my lounge?”

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • How should I price flooring installation?

Most fitters price by floor area (m²) and flooring type, then add fixed or per-m² fees for the extras that eat into a day: underlay, lifting and disposing of the old floor, moving furniture and trimming doors. The Quotify flooring template asks for the room area, sets a base rate from the flooring type, and stacks the add-ons on top for an instant total.

  • Can I price carpet, laminate, LVT and engineered wood in one form?

Yes. A single flooring-type question sets the base per-m² rate, so carpet, laminate, LVT and engineered wood all run through the same form at their own prices. The area calculator scales each one automatically as the customer enters their room size.

  • How do I handle lifting and disposing of the old floor?

Add it as an optional extra, priced either as a flat fee or per m². Skip-and-disposal costs vary by flooring type (pulling up glued LVT is not the same job as rolling up a carpet), so you can set separate rates if you want the number to be accurate rather than a round guess.

  • What if the customer supplies their own flooring?

Add a 'Who supplies the flooring?' question (you supply / customer supplies). When you supply it, apply a materials markup on top of the labour rate; when the customer supplies it, quote labour only. The template supports either model.

  • Do I need a website to use this template?

No. You can share a direct link in your Checkatrade or MyBuilder profile, on social media or by text. If you do have a site, embedding the form on your flooring page takes a couple of minutes.
